Cobra 75 is great for what it is, while it works. I went through two of them over a period of years. Some others in our group had similar luck, with 75's not lasting. Some had much better luck with their 75's never dying. I had to use an external speaker with them, too, but my hearing sucks. But mounting them sure is easy.

After having two 75's croak on me though, I stepped up to a Cobra 25 LX, which I still have but never use anymore. But it really is a lot more radio than the 75. I liked it way better and never had any issue.

Went with the type of mount that goes above the rear view in my LJ. Never had a JK, but I have seen plenty of radios mounted in that same spot in them.

My ham mount, but CB would work too. I just wanted it dry, cool, and out of the way. The wire dropping down is to an external speaker and can be removed or used outside the vehicle.
