I have a auto and was wondering if anyone here has installed a temp guage for the tranny. If so what is the range that is safe for the tranny?

The auto has a built in temp guage kinda sorta. It senses the fluid temp and changes the shift points according to temperature. I have a PDA with an adapter and software that plugs into the OBDII and with that I can read the temp online if I wanted too.I was also looking into a temp guage to put where that nice blank spot is next to the switches but I have only found 2-1/8" guages so far.I really need to find a 1-1/2" guage. The other spot I saw on another TJ was right in front of the T/Case shifter. You could use a 2-1/8" guage there I think. For now I have a B+M trans cooler in front of the radiator and just hoping I don't cook the trans.
