Banging up the end of the tailpipe. Backing into a rock, dragging it, etc. Raised it up a bit with a different hanger.

Maybe cut off a few inches, moving the downturn forward.

Looking for anything others have done.

Thx

I've whacked mine quite a bit, I had the entire exhaust system replaced (up to the two cats) and they shortened it. Keep the outlet somewhere behind the rear tires and that will be fine.

After dragging and denting the turn down the first week after buying the LJ new, I simply cut mine off flush with the tank skid - at the same angle, literally using the skid as a guide. It's survived over15 years like that relatively unscathed. When I switched to the big Genright tank it still matched up very close to it.

Found a couple fairly recent pics where you can see what I mean.

Mine is similar. Cut off just at the rear of the gas tank skid.

Being on 33s with a stock suspension, I’ve dragged butt more than my share. This is original from 2004. I think I bent back the lower lip with a pair of vice grips about a year ago.

Had the rear part replaced with one with a bit less of an angle to avoid hitting it.
