Necessary or not? Haven't really heard of people running these on TJ's. I know that on CJ's they're quite necessary - I saw a steering box ripped form it's mount last week. Comments?

Ps - I will be running 35x15x16 boggers on 12" rims soon - hence the concern.

A steering box brace is usually cheap insurance. The last time I checked noone made them for the 2003's yet. They changed the steering box, and the old braces will not fit them, without modifications. Last email I had with MORE pretty much stated that they were going to redesign them, but I haven't seen anything yet.

I would think that you would not need one. The CJ frame was weak and I have never seen one torn off a TJ. I have a friend that is running 38's and never had a problem. He did up grade to Hydro assist just because it was getting to be a pain to turn on the road and trail sometimes.
