Rubicon locker switch disabled?

Greetings! I bought a used 2016 Rubicon Wrangler Unlimited. It looks like it was well maintained and everything worked - I upgraded from a Sport to get the heavier duty undercarriage and lockers. I test drove it and took it on a mild 4-wheeling adventure after I bought it, all was good. I went to drive it the next day and the locker switch now does NOTHING. No flashing lights on the dash, and no locking. It's like the switch was disabled completely.

The only thing I can think of is that I changed the tire size with my Superchips Flashcal F5, which had previously been used with the Sport. But the F5 was not indicating any VIN lock from the previous VIN, so I wasn't expecting any issues. I have had a ticket open with Holley/Superchips and waiting for a response for three days now. The F5 recognizes there are lockers and it allows me to engage them - as observed by the sound and change in driving characteristics. But even then the light on the dash does not indicate the lockers are engaged.

I've checked/tried:
1. Lockers do engage with the F5
2. Checked fuses M3 and M38 anyway and they're good
3. Applied the latest upgrade to the F5 (was previously April 2022)
4. Reset BCM/TPIM manually by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and flashing headlights
5. Reset BCM/TPIM using the F5

Anybody here have any other ideas, or other method to reset BCM/TPIM/PCM to get my lockers back??

Thank you in advance

Are you in 4lo? The switch will only activate when the transfer case is in 4lo and you can activate just the rear or both at the same time. With the Flashcal you can bypass the switch and activate them when not in 4lo or activate just the front. I do not know if the lights would still come on with the switch bypassed.

Dan - great thought. Yes, I'm aware how the lockers work, and am in 4-lo. However, even in 2/4-hi when you hit the switch, the light on the dash would flash previously.

It does sound like it may have to do something with the flashcal, did you tried flashing it back to stock settings to see if they work again? I did a quick read on the F5 and it does seem to have the ability to change the programming to allow you to use the lockers on 4-hi.

Yeah - I tried resetting to stock first and then tried resetting BCM/TPIM, which is a separate option. Then I checked for F5 updates and applied the latest, which took it from April 2022 to April 2023 and tried again - no luck. That's when I opened the support ticket with Holley/Superchips. I also tried the hard/manual reset method I found on this forum. I've spent hours searching the web for this scenario / symptoms and come up with nothing. I am working with a shop that specializes Jeep customizations and they've never heard of this either :/

I'm taking the Jeep in to the dealer where I bought it so they can try their hand at diagnosing / resetting. If I figure it out, I will be sure to post the solution!

Ya might check that the enabling switch on the T. case is working correctly and that the wire to it is ok at the connector.

The locker switch/lights etc. started going goofy on my 2012 Rubicon in early winter. I just did the locker bypass and I am VERY happy with that. The indicator still does not work but the lockers do.

Mechanic determined the switch is bad. Could be the circuit board or one of its inputs. I'm installing a manual switch instead. Thanks for the ideas and tips!

Having the same issue and also running the f5
Holley had me connect the unit to my computer and check for an update. In that process, they were able to pull a diagnostic from the F5. After an engineer swearing up and down that anything they might have done would be undone by the "return to stock" feature, I got an email from a manager yesterday that leads me to believe they have actually found the issue and will be offering a fix.

I recommend you open a support ticket with Holley/Superchips via the 888 phone number that shows up on the splash screen when it powers on, and reference support ticket #607427 to let them know that you may be experiencing the same problem and would be interested in the outcome.

Yeah I don't see any of the locker lights when turning vehicle on, hitting locker switch or locking with the programmer. Odd but will be calling as well to open a ticket to

Final update - Holley came back with a fix and told me all I had to do was plug in my F5 to my computer, update it and continue tuning my Jeep. I changed my axle ratio from stock to 4.10 - which is what I have. It did its thing and when it was done, my factory locker switch and indicators were working again - WooHoo!!! Score one for the Superchips engineers :)

I asked the manager to confirm if the update went out globally or if they targeted my F5 only. Let me know how you come out on this!

Yeah no luck on mine, printed my build sheet and mine has the 3.73 put that in, set the tune and nothing changed

Did you get an update when you plugged it into your computer and checked for updates? I asked to confirm if the update went out to everyone or just me, still waiting for that response.
Everytime I call there closed so I sent them an email. I did plug it in and it says there was 2 updates that downloaded. I also unplugged it and plugged it back in to see if it would pop another update but it did not. Put back to stock and then tuned again, still no lights or lockers. Going to change my diff fluid and make sure what ratio I have before I set that in the tune
