Removing Stock FM Radio Antenna.

Just wondering if any one has any insight on removing the stock radio antenna on a 06 LJ? I recently purchased a shorter rubber one for close trails.

It unscrews with a wrench or am I missing what you want to do?

The antenna itself unscrews. Im talking about the entire assembly, cord and all.

I looked through my FSM and it to remove the antenna assembly, you unscrew the antenna, and pop off the black plastic cover. Under that are 3 screws that unhook the base/cable from the cowl. Behind that is a grommet and the wire disconnect is behind the glove box.

Ah nice. I was thinking about trying to pop the "cover" but I wasn't sure if it was a cover and didn't want to risk breaking/cracking anything. I really appreciate the detailed response.
