I have a line on an RB1 with part number P/N 56038629AE

Is the P/N 56038629AE compatible with the Chrysler iPod kit?

Per this little write up over on http://www.wjjeeps.com/nav.htm#INTRO1 it is not.

P/N 56038629AB
P/N 56038629AC
P/N 56038629AD
P/N 56038629AE

(Note: The above radios are not compatible in vehicles having the factory Premium sound system, they do not have the circuitry to trigger the external amplifier)

P/N 56038629AG
P/N 56038629AH*
P/N 56038629AI*

(*Compatible with Chrysler's iPod kit)

Also, are they reffering to the Premium Sound system for the Wrangler or Grand Cherokee? I only have the single disc radio with console sub (that i removed)

Someone on here has to know if the IPOD kit will work with an AE model RB1. There is not much that us Jeepers have not tried to do.

I just don't want to buy this one if I cannot hook up the IPOD for the wife. Need to make her happy as much as possible.

nikkijp,

Thank you for the links. It no longer matters because the price of the RB1 shot up drastically in the last few minutes of bidding past what I was willing to pay.

I do not have the IPOD kit, but I do have an RB1 with 6 disc changer.

And based on the instructions and pics I have seen, it appears it will work on any RB1.

Maybe someone else can chime in?

Thanks!

I have the 6 disc in dash changer with an iPOD integration unit. I think it's the RB1...

Been a while since I've been to this site.

Yes, an AE RB1 is completely compatible with the Mopar iPod Integration kit. It's working fine on mine and one other Jeep in my family. I have a full wiring diagram with part numbers if anyone needs it.

The 6-disc changer is the RBQ. The RB1 is the navigation unit.

Can you hook up Sirius and the Ipod kit on the RB1? Or does one option preclude the installation of the other?

Yes, I have both, but you do not get the Sirius info on the radio display. There is a way to get the Sirius info, but you need to get a splitter and a couple of cables. The info for that is in the big RB1 thread - do a search for it.

Of course you can, and here's how to do it:

Wow - It's been more than a year since I drew that diagram - time flies...

Well, I'm bringing back an 11year old thread. This has worked well for a decade. But now.....

Has anyone found a 30pin bluetooth adapter that works with this TJ Mopar iPod Integration Kit? My iPod has sadly died. All my music is now on iPhones and iPads
