So getting ready to increase my metal fabricating. Picked up the following:
Hobart Handler 210
Hobart Spoolrunner 100 gun
Rigid 14" chopsaw
Lotus Plasma cutter.

Now waiting for warm weather to start making stuff.

A chop saw is on the list, trying to decide which one. A basic abrasive, or a metal blade...

Good setup Mike. I'll be interested in how the Lotus torch holds up and works for you.

I have a Milwaukee abrasive chop saw, excellent product and it's my first go-to for whacking metal except for aluminum. I have a little 10" Hitachi miter saw with a aluminum cutting blade dedicated to cutting aluminum. Abrasive blades don't cut aluminum very well.

For whacking large stuff, I use a horizontal band saw.

John, I will not be using the plasma cutter much, that is why I went with the Lotus, good reviews and at $249 shipped, I figure it was worth it. Most of what i will be doing will be round or square tube based, bumpers, sliders...

You can't beat Lotus and Everlast prices, it should work well for you. I was really, really tempted to go Lotus/Everlast for a TIG machine - they get pretty good reviews but I went Miller.

Mike - what kind of air compressor are you planning to use with the plasma?

Running my garage one, the plasma uses less air than my air tools.
