Right now all my ROF pictures are stored on Photobucket. I’d like to purchase a ROF Premium Membership and transfer my picture files to ROF storage.

How difficult is it to transfer the html over?

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the response. Right now all my pictures in posts are linked to ROF via html. Photobucket seems to be heading toward the stance of pay for it or lose it. They claim I’m over capacity. It’s funny, because Photobucket has me listed at 50 percent of allowed capacity. At any rate, I’m going to go ahead with a Premium Membership on ROF. I know all the html transfer can be tricky. I guess I’ll just dive in.

Question - editing has been removed from postings. Will I be able to edit picture addresses from Photobucket to ROF?

There's an edit time limit of a few hours which is pretty much standard among various forums. We (me, Mac, stitch, etc) can edit your posts for you. I'm not sure if we can change the edit window for a specific member but I can check or maybe one of the VerticalScope support people can check.

I have no experience with the ROF gallery but I can investigate that for you. When I make a post I always upload the picture as part of the post and don’t use the ROF gallery feature.

Thanks for becoming a premium member!

I can't think of an automated way to update image links in old posts. Maybe you could find a few that are important/significant and make a list for updating links.

That would be one workaround, I’ve been super busy (and then pooped out) and haven’t had time to look into the edit thing for you. Hang loose for a little while.

The hammer was supposed to drop June 1st. June 4th at this thread reply, nothing has changed. We’ll see.

By the way, an answer may be to rewrite the posts and then the admins can simply delete the picture gutted posts. I would probably consolidate some posts, such as trail reports.

Photobucket moved from threats to kindness now. They also introduced a more attractive plan. Their plan still doesn’t come near to the benefits of a membership with ROF and the file hosting provided.
