A few small mods to the already modified Jeep..... Pulled the back carpet and spray lined it. (I love my music so....) Added an Amp and 10 inch Sub. Put in my front CV Axles. Added a side bag because you always need a place to store extra parts. And added the CB that warfnation got me for my birthday. Slow going, but it's going. Soon to come... something OTHER than a stock back bumper.

Fast or slow... you're making progress...

Is your antenna mount high for the 3rd brake light? Do you still run the 3rd brake light?

What bumpers are you considering? What do you want it to do?
Are you running the stock radio with that sound upgrade?

Build looks good, most start slow as you learn more during the build... however it never hurts to win the lotto. :D

Goodluck with the build.
love the bag!
The antenna Mount is that high for the spare tire so it's not kissing and rubbin. Not running a third break light right now (illegal, i know) until I get my bumper/tire carrier. Once i get my bumper/tire carrier i'll have the LED lights that fit into the rim. It's pretty cool lookin. I'm considering the smittybuilt XRC Bumper and Tire Carrier. I'm gonna stick XJ OME springs in the front for a little higher lift and considering Rock Rails that i can actually step on to get into my jeep. I'm short. 5'2. So climbing in is fun. Pondering full back body armor and redoing my tube fenders because the people that did it before sucked ass. (luckily I wsn't the one that paid for it) The sheet metal they rolled over it has ripples in it like you wouldn't believe and one side tilts too far down. But as for right now it's just an old bumper from a buddy i got for 35 bucks tha'ts my temporary solution. Carrying the spare tire inside. And... no... No stock radio. I never keep a stock radio. Hell, I pulled the stock radio out of my ex's 09 tacoma and put in a double DIN touchscreen DVD/MP3/Navigation/CD Player in it. (not to mention the 2 ten inch subs, 2 6x9's, amp, and all the other speakers that was in that thing) I LOVE my music... almost as much as I love my Jeep!

So..... A new soft Top is going on the jeep because the other one bit the dust. So due to funds, I am trying out the Smittybilt Soft Top. Haven't heard much on reviews, but what I did see said it was a good short term. So trying that out. Next up, I want to get my side tubes extended out some so I have a little more stepping up room. Being only 5 foot 2 inches, it's fun getting in and out of the jeep as it is. Looking into getting the following items for it eventually as well.:
-XRC Corner guards with 3 inch flares.
Changing out the front tube fenders to the XRC Smittybilt 3 in tube flares, the XRC tire carrier add on once i bolt my new bumper on.

Went wheeling the weekend of the 9th. Had so much fun! (see pics below) Got my new top in and got it on today. Yay! been thinking of what to paint my jeep... I like green, but not that much. It's got a bunch of scratches on it, so I really don't want the worry of scratching it a whole bunch. I pondered ripping everything outta it and just spray lining the entire damn thing. inside and out. No worries on scratches and if it happens.... 8 dollar rattle can for touch up. Still up in the air about it. Pondering Red and Black with some kind of design... perhaps a phoenix on the side and top or something... like i said.. still pondering.

yeah, do a phoenix design! :lildevil:
IMO, thats a Jeep Green Rubicon, DON'T change the color, It's the rarest of the colors on the rubicon model.

Well, I've looked online and it seems that I can't find what the rarest jeep color is... so, until further documentation, my plan stands.... thinking either black and a nice pretty blue (my fav color) or a black and red. One of the other, not sure which yet or what kind of design.

I am pretty sure it is Shale Green Metallic. Look at the tailgate hinges - my money is on a 2003 since it doesn't have plastic covers. I believe Shale Green was available up to 2004? Then Jeep went to Beryl Green (2005?) and then Jeep Green (2006?).

Regardless, I agree with Eric. Don't paint it! I had a 2003 Shale Green Rubicon and miss it...

Matt
Can't tell exactly what color that is. I have an '06 LJ in Jeep Green and to me that looks a little lighter than mine, but it could be the junk computer I'm on. I love mine and wouldn't change it for anything, but I say if you don't love it change it. I think Line-Xing the whole thing would be awesome. There are a couple local guys who have done it and I think it looks awesome.

If you don't want to worry about scratches, I don't recommend painting it black.
What about a wrap? http://www.superwraps.com/gallery.php.....I think this would look great and work well to protect the jeep. Roll or spray some liner inside and call it good. I love my raptor liner in my jeep.
what will you do? Looking forward to watching your build.
NOOOOO don't get rid of the green! It is indeed rare. I have yet to see another in my area other than mine. They seem to all be out west. Either way, keep it!
