McGard lugnuts. Which ones???

939 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  gregert12
I bought the McGard lugnuts part # 64010. They do thread on okay, but do not seem to have as much of a "buldge" as the factory lugnuts. do I need to be concerned that they do not seem to have quite as much wheel contact as the factory nuts. Anyone have these ??
Thanks

Yes I got them. They are the conical seat (if I am thinking right) and not the acorn type that has that "bulge" as you said. My McGards take even a different wrench size that OEM, which kind of sucks.

No they should not present you any issues or problems as long as they will fit in the hole in your wheel and still allow you to get a socket in there to them.
I replaced my OEM lugnuts with McGard 64010s a couple of years ago and never looked back. They have worked fine on my Moabs.

Puzzled about the wrench size issue as per SweetPee :confused

My factory tire wrench takes my McGards on and off just fine

Maybe that's it....the OEM nuts must be 3/4" hex, same size as the McGard 64010.

I know that my factory tire wrench that Jeep stuck under my front passenger seat fits both the OEM nuts and my McGards.

Do they still fit snug to the rim or is there play since the cone contacts the rotor?
