LJ Auto Converstion to 5 Speed

Anyone have any experience converting an auto LJ to a 5 or 6 speed? I have a friend who's looking to do this. He's looking to buy used trans, flywheel, torque converter, pedals and new clutch and bearings. I guess the clutch position sensor needs rewired to the auto park sensor of the EMU? Also I assume he'll need a new driveshaft. Any ideas?

Don't think he is going to need a new torque converter. Probably going to need a new ECU, as the manual vs. auto is, I do believe, different.

Ditto.

If the ECM/ECM has 4 connectors on it, then it controls the auto trans. if it has three connectors, then the trans is controlled by a separate box - the TCM, which is what mine is. I think the change happened sometime during the 2004 model year.
DS should be the same, no need for a new one as it comes from the TC and not the tranny.
I aslo would like to swap the 42RLE for a manual. I have an 04 with the seperate TCM, would a swap with my buddy who has a 99 5 speed be possible? I drive my Rubi like a stick, I manualy shift from 1-2-D and then toggle the OD on and off for the best control. I can not control the 3-4 shift and it always hits at the wrong time. I would like to be able to control the gear I am in.
