Has anyone ever done a rebuild on their disconnects? If so how much problems did you have pushing the new bushings. I can't seem to get them started in evenly. They (JKS) recommend using a bench vise. I'm having no luck with that. Have tired using my 12 ton hydraulic pump press & no luck there either. Help

I did it years ago
1) put soap on both parts as lube.
2) on one endput a socket bigger than the bushing with the ratchet square out
3) on the other end a socket just smaller than the metal with the ratchet square in
4) using a bench vice push them together until the bushing seats.

the key is the soap as lube, do not use petroleum based lubes as they can swell/weaken the bushing.
