help please - rear brake pad...left vs right w/pic

'04 Rubicon...
I replaced my front pads they were stamped left and right. When I did the rears I just tossed them aside and then realized they weren't stamped.
The rear inboard are identical, but, the rear outboard aren't.
Notice the notch on one side of each (right side of top one in pic and left side of bottom one in pic). Does the notch go on the top of the caliper or bottom?
Which is the left and which is the right?
Thanks....

I would wait to see if some one agrees with me geroux... But I am fairly sure that the notches face down when everything is assembled. So the top pad/pic would be the driver side and the bottom pad/pic would be the passenger side. I checked my FSM and it doesn't specify for the rear. But it does for the fronts, and on the fronts the notches would be on the bottom like I identified above.
yep, notches go down.

I know what you mean. I have the 2004 Service Manual copywrite 2003 and this is all I found...no pictures of the back.
page 5-17
Removal - Rear Disc Brake Pads
step (5) "Remove the caliper by tilting the top up and off the caliper adapter." (which suggest to me the notch is on the bottom)
But on page 5-19
Installation - Rear Disc Brake Pads
step (7) "Tilt the top of the caliper over the rotor and under adapter. Then push the bottom of the caliper down onto the adapter." (this suggest that the top has the notch)

Conflicting information? Hoping to get a few more inputs so if I have to I can get them swapped tomorrow, I've already drivin' about 30 miles with the notch on the top.
The caliper with pads gets seated on the bottom slide rail and the top snaps in.
Not conflicting its talking about installing the caliper not the pads. The notch goes down just like the front.

RedRubiconLJ.....Once the pads are installed to the caliper making it one assembly, I don't know how this could be interpreted as anyway except that the top goes in first, thus the notched side, then the bottom slides on. That is where I see the conflict in the Service Manual from the removal step 5.
I think the concesus is the notch is on the bottom so I'll be swaping them first thing in the AM.

Thanks all....
