Help me choose Lift

I know this is a on going topic, but I need some help choosing. I have looked at Rubicon 2" spacers kit, rough country 2" steel spacers(no shocks), 3.5 Rubicon basic lift( no shocks but It comes with trackbar site shows), AEV 3" springs( no shocks as you may know), and I think thats about it. I am not really in to FT. I think I might get cheapie shocks till funds come in for Blistiens.

I think I will be getting jks disco, BL, and Motorlift also. So as you see I need to know which lift due to discos. I am really thinking of AEVs springs (really only for ride I would like it to ride better than now).

I dont offroad much now just around my house mainly, but I may start going more when this thing get a bigger tire( I have 285s in shed waiting to go on). I am about to pull my hair out trying to figure out which one Ill go with.
I think the AEVs with BL is more what Iam wanting due to the fact that I really want 35 later. I know about regear and wear and tear so Im not worried about it as of right now.
Funds are limited due to wifes surgery coming up in Feb.

If I go aev springs, what shall I use for tb brackets? Rubicon brackets?
Let's just say that I an not a RE fan. The AEV coils sound like a good start, though.
I have the AEV springs and love them. I run 33's no problem, I know you are looking at 35's later. I am running a currie rock jock front tb (no bracket). I already had a rear tb w/ bracket.
I just install the AEV coils with Bilsteins 5100, Currie front TB and JKS rear TB with the relocation bracket, Rokmen arms, FT bump stops, RubiconExpress rear sway bar relocator and the FullTraction discos from my rig. So far I like it, but then again, I only drove about 500 feet. :)

Call [email protected] and he can help you out.
Chris,

Just so you know, there is someone trying to sell 3" AEV springs on the AEV forum. $85 a set with approx. 67k on them. If you are planning on doing a piece meal lift, they may be worth checking out.

Good luck with your build!
thanks for the heads up about the sale on the springs. RE sits alittle bad in my mouth but for no reason at all. I would use them just not real sure about them.
If I go AEV springs does anyone think Ill need anything else? gregert seems to have about the setup Im looking for, I wanted the same shocks. Will I need to worry much about Tbs first? I have a friend at work that ran 4in springs on his tjX but then again he had some problems with DW and other issues.
Yea I checked AEV site yesterday and those srings were on backorder:(
No sure if those are AEVs. Fronts dont look like they are rears maybe.
I talked ro Dave at northridge the other day and since I am trying to go cheap he said that he had some Teraflex shocks. Anyone comment on those?
Darnit here I go again now I am thinking of the RE3.5 with the free front TB.

I read somwhere that those springs are around 4-4.5" tall? Can anyone else verify the height on them?
The RE springs are known to sag which is why I went progressive on the other rubi.

For trackbars, if you get with the AEV coils, you do not have to relocate the trackbars that instant. On the front, you can redrill the hole out another 3/4" to help offset the lift height.

I believe that you are better off buying it once than spending more to do it over again.
I feel the same way. I hate having parts all over my shed, I still have some fixed Skyjacker arms from my cherokee( atleast I think I could use them if needed).

Gregert how does those shocks ride on and off road?

I had stock blistiens on my ZR2 and I liked them( the heavy duty ones not the 5100s).

I just thought of the Re kit for the sole purpose of that it had swaybar liks and tb. I do think that going the RE way I will spend more dough on it also but in the long run I might bve better off with the AEV's.

I like the 5100s. My rig has had them since 04 and I have no complaints. When driving, it feels like a truck, not a Cadillac.

If there were progressive springs on the market a few years ago, I would have chosen them over the standard coils. Also, I recommend you get control arms with johnny joints on both ends so you never have to change the bushings. I hate changing them every 10k miles (FT bushings).
