they didnt give you any grief about it? knowing how dealerships are, it seems like they would have accused you of dropping it or something (happened to a wheeler on a colorado 4x4 board).

Mike,
i was worried they might hassle me.
they can see no damage or dents..and its just there .
it looks a bit ruff due to i applied super glue and tried to force into the crack to keep it from further damage. they totally agreed was ok for me to do that.
the service manager is an avid 4 wheeler...he understand flex.
parts and body shop mgr said replace.... they dont wana accept responsibilty to try and repair.
so will be a few weeks before new top is in.
living in Vegas.... i finally got LUCKy!

Sorry to hear about your crack Mac. At least they are going to replace it. Did they at least let you keep it until the new one came in? With the horror stories you hear about some dealerships, good to hear that another one has some common sense about damage, some of them would have voided the warranty for your superglue repair.

I wonder if it was hit during shipping or in the factory. By the look of the location it could easily be done by pushing on the frame area. Could have happend when the dealership did the PDI... The good thing is that the dealership is replacing it.

Update!

just picked up my Rubi... was at the dealer service garage.

took them 1.5 days to do the job....sounds like a long time.
thing is they removed the glass from my damaged hard top and
installled it in the brand new top. the rubber glue had to dry...
like its only 105 today.....sheeeeeeeesh.

just happy they coverd the crack and supplied a new top!

I guess I better pull the cover off of mine and check it. Thanks for the heads up and I'm glad to hear that sometimes we actually get treated the way we should.

Have a great day - now that you're all fixed up!

Another good dealership, I like hearing about them after all the bad stuff you hear. I know they care, and have to make choices, we just need to remember to be honest about how we did it. The last time mine was in, I got asked how I bent the skid plate, I told them and they asked me if I wanted to have it replaced under warranty. Didn't have it done, but that was cool of them. Now mac take the top off and go topless. 105 woohoo...

105? wow! i went topless last weekend in the mountains and it was only 85. that alone resulted in the tops of my ears getting barbecued! you'd be pretty crispy after a few hours in 105 degree temps.

105 is a "DRY HEAT"....

does not hurt till it gets to 118 deg`s.and above.

we spend a lot of time in water....either in the lakes or pool.
