It lists auto in his signature.
What kink of fluid were you using? Were you running a tranny cooler? How often did you change your fluid? 120k isn't too bad for the type of 0ff-roading the Jeep was used for. That does suck about it going out, especially around the holidays. Guys at work give me a hard time because I change mine about every 10k but it makes me feel better!

Todd
Its an auto...I used some of the Thules last year...to keep it running smoothly and it worked but not this time...I changed the fluid about once a year or maybe 15 to 20 thousand miles...I guess this will be my Christmas present to myself... :(
Are there any shops out there that build up the auto trans for us? i.e., there's lots of businesses that specialize in "performance" type trans builds for trucks and stuff - wondering if there's similar for Jeep transmissions.

Did the 2003 us the 42RLE? (4 speed) I'm drawing a blank as to what year the 42RLE was first available.

I NEED to get a cooler installed - I have one, and it's been on the shelf in the garage for about 3 years. :lildevil: :dhorse:

Yes my '03 has one. Now, I'm getting nervous because I have 110K on mine and I didn't get it until it had 80K on it. I have changed my fluid and filter 3X since.

I know that I need one but, I have put it off out of laziness. I am going to pay the piper, I am sure. I even replaced the radiator a month ago and now cold weather is here and and I am garageless.
