Ok I've got a long way to go to catch Guy n ice cream stash

Got $350'$$ prime beef loaded
40 lbs ice in case power goes out

Fill water jugs and fill all extra space in the freezer... this accomplishes two things...
Keeps it colder if the power goes out and...
Saves energy.. it takes up air volume. It is easier to keep something frozen than it is to freeze dead air space. When you open the door and then close it there is all that space taken up with already frozen stuff (water) and the freezer will work less refreezing less volume of dead air.
Anything you read will tell you a full freezer works better the more full it is... just don't block the cold air supply and return.
