So I'm told there is a spool available the the Rubi D44. Does anyone know who makes it? Link?

Check with Jeremy or Carl at JT's Differential. Tell them I sent you. I'm not 100% positive but I THINK he has it available now. He was in Wenatchee for a couple years after moving here from your side of the mountains but upsized and moved to Cashmere about 2 years ago maybe. Just a few miles north of here. An easy drive over for you. If his isn't available, he will know where to get it.

edit-here's a "mini" spool, check the site for full spools but he doesn't have everything listed.

Also, Carl (Jantz) may have something of interest for you too. He's on your side and is also doing the "jana 54" and "jana 76" conversions with some other cool parts. Check pirate here or call him direct:

Hope the new year is going well for you!

I know they make a 30 spline spool for a standard D44, but I don't think it would work in a Rubicon D44 with the thick ring gear. Since you're not using a carrier anymore, maybe it would work? I'm hoping someone will chime in and clear things up who know more about this.
Why not weld the locker closed?

If it was an open carrier with spider gears, I'd probably do that. Since its got that limited slip, its more complicated than what I'm used to. Not only that, I don't want to worry about it anymore. Spool solves problem.
You still running the factory setup??? Wow-impressive with what you do with that! I blew my rear very early on, on MUCH smaller tires. Running the ARB with standard gears (non-rubi/thick kind). May want to just give either of those guys above a call and get it strait from the horses mouth. If JT's doesn't have it (and they may not for the Rubi, I don't know...), then I bet Carl Jantz could build you something if he doesn't have something handy already. Oh-call Tim too, he's over on your side as well and may have something too. Think he goes by TechTim on pirate maybe???

Best of Luck,

Mike
Decided to go with a Detroit. A little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
i changed my rear to the yukon grizzly.. it was recommended over the detroit by a buddy who runs a 4x4 shop.. i think it's gonna be a great choice.. after 6 1/2 years, i broke my 2nd rubi rear locker.. so when i upgraded to 5:13's, i changed the rear locker as well.. was on 35's for 5 years and 37's now the last year.. front factory locker is still kickin'..
I'd like to go with the Grizzly, but they don't make one that fits with the stock 4:10's.
