First run JEEPods

I have decided to launch a speaker pod line starting with the TJ model and am about to do a small (5) order run so I can take photos of the different colors on rigs that compliment. I am working out costs at the moment but anyone seriously interested needs to understand this could cost as much as $500 for the pair (I will try and get that down). I will guarantee workmanship and am certain anyone will be impressed with the units for cost of money as they are not cheap.

I am looking for 5 different colored rigs... yellow, red, Lt Khaki, silver and black. The pods will be painted to match the paint job of the rig preferably. Each pair unit will have LED's and will be prewired to plug and play.

Here is a link to my website so you can see the pods.

Send me a pm if you are interested.

I'm just checking...$500 for the pods or do they come with speakers too?
There will be some sort of speakers (of good quality likely Alpine or MB Quart) or a credit so you can purchase your own so you can upgrade. I am looking at a set of DLS speakers that cost $630 alone. sheesh! LED's I'm putting in these things aren't cheap either.

Speakers I am considering

I might be interested...but would need more info on cost and what not. If I were to get a set, it would most likely be the yellow or black versions, leaning towards the yellow though. Would you have a pic to show how close the yellow matches to the Jeep Solar Yellow, or are we talking the rustolium color that is maybe one shade off from dead on?
OT

Hey Brian,

Wtat speakers do you have hooked up to those Mcintosh amps??

I only have pics of the black set. I am going to get the paint codes from Jeep and more than likely have Bill Pearse Auto Body do the paint work. If needed I will try and match the color as best as possible. I will keep this thread updated on all progress and costs. Thanks for the interest.

Hey Brian,

Wtat speakers do you have hooked up to those Macintosh amps??

That is the shop I am having the prototype console built. I will look and see what he has them on, it's a home theater setup. Very nice equipment! :eek:bsessed:

No doubt, those amps were probably about 3-4K apiece new. They look like the MC252s.
I heard a pair of these hooked up to a set of dual 1000 watt mono block McIntosh amps. The sound was so pure it made my ex cry.
The speakers retailed for about $28K each in the Rosewood. 350lbs ea. Absolutely beautiful

3-way triple column floor system has:
four 12" LD/HP woofers
twelve 5" mids
twenty four 1" soft dome tweeters.
Shipped in two sections. Black grille cloth. 90-day special order only.

Resetting solid state protection. Terminals for tri-amp/tri-wire.

Crossover frequencies: 400Hz and 1300Hz
Output: 87dB @1w/1m
Power rating: 1000w
Size: 83"H, 28.75"W and 12.5"D
Weight: 347.5 lb. for one system

Sorry for the hijack. Back on topic for some beautiful pods. They would sound great with the Polk Audio SR5250 speakers.

Same components as the ones in the LSi series home speakers.

If you price a set without speakers, I'd have a much higher interest. While the price w/o speakers isn't bad, I'm a bargain speaker shopper.

I will be able to do just that, it should make for a $60-$80 difference in total price. I highly recommend if you spend the money for these pods you should have at some point the idea to upgrade power and speakers, these pods scream with about 75 watts RMS and that is not cheap power.

Brian, I like the Polk brand and those look very nice... if I offer a component set it will mean no LED's which gives more $ wiggle room for upgraded speakers.
I also wanted to mention that I have a center console being built right now that will compliment these pods. It will bolt in stock as well and will have a slim line MB Quart Reference 10" subwoofer. The console will have a nice opening lockable storage area (long and shallow, enough to lock your ipod, cd face, sunglasses etc.) and because the sub only takes up half of the actual interior air space there is enough room for my bracket to house an Alpine PDX series amplifer or JL HD or equiv. in size amplifier. This will be a nice upgrade and if you put two speakers in the dash and run an PDX-5 you will have the perfect setup that takes up minimal room in the cab. I have spent thousands only to be disappointed time and again when it comes to audio and Jeeps... this gives someone the opportunity to have a real stereo in their rig and bypass all the trial and error.
I may be interested If they will work with the Rock Hard cage (looks like they will). would need them in red. Also interested in the center console as long as it is the same or slimmer than the factory unit.

Eddie these would look great in your rig... that red will really set off! I have not fit the rear bars on but it looks like it would fit fine, the pods are the same size as stock.

Anyway the console will be the same size as the center console but may have a slight protrusion around the subwoofer area but will fit stock. I will keep you posted on the progress with the prototype, should be finished end of October first of November (*edit... more like end of the year, sorry things going slower than hoped) and then off for a custom moulding.

Brian

 The cost estimate is pretty close, but should know more this week. The sub console will not be out until sometime in November but will be well worth the wait and yes you can buy them seperate from the console.
Pretty cool looking pods.
Think I'll start saving my pennies. :D
ok ill wait i just turned my bass way way down sub is tolerable for a month or 2 :D
The pods are on their way to San Marcos, CA to have a master built and the moulds built. For those holding back to hear more on costs I will lay everything out when I hear an official bid from MGM (hopefully within the next week).

So far I have interest in the yellow, Lt Khaki, black and Red pods.. need some interest in the silver set.

PM if you are interested and give me the details you have so far, I will have some custom options to follow up on for each unit.

Thanks, Brian
So not to create any confusion I want to be clear that I only have five units for sale in five colors (four of which may be spoken for) total. I am not in production yet so this is an opportunity to get a first unit. Anyone interested to buy these later my visit my website to contact me but ROF is not my platform for sales.

Thank you, Brian

Okay so things don't always move quickly, have some photos of the product and should be able to get started next week doing some of the above mentioned custom builds.

Alright finally some progress....

Above is just the rough unit, lots of details to come.
