Favorite carry gun?

Curious what's everybody carrying, either open or concealed. My very favorite now is the Sig P365XL. I've carried an M&P 9C, as my first EDC - flawless performer but almost twice the weight of my Sig.

I also carried a Sig P239 chambered in 357 Sig. It had a decocker and was SA/DA - first trigger pull was 10 pounds, then when in DA mode it was 5 pounds. I stopped carrying it when I had a fail to fire. I needed to put down an antelope (forgot why) - pulled the trigger and nothing happened. I sent it to Sig then later field stripped it and gave it an ultrasonic bath. So that one is now a safe queen.

Then I bought a Ruger LC9s. When I was breaking it in the magazine would randomly fall out - not my fault! 😯 Sent it back to Ruger and they replaced the frame. I was carrying it for a while but I never trusted it fully - not good for a carry gun to maybe save your life some day. So it's basically another safe queen.

Most of my friends also carry, some like a small revolver. You have to admit very little can go wrong with a wheel gun.

My favorite handgun (too large to carry for me) is a Sig P226 chambered in 357 Sig. Special Forces used to carry these. Close behind is a 1911 in 45ACP - great gun, quiet report and very fun to shoot.

I believe you're mistaken, not unless you're from California, Oregon, or Washington, then you would be talking about how hot your delivery guy is.

Interesting Update

The injunction granted in FPC's pistol brace lawsuit applies to all FPC Members.
So at the moment, I can leave my AR Pistol configured as is.

Yep, and I can leave my pistol on the floor beside me. :)
I dreamed of a United States where citizens had no firearms, shortly thereafter I was shot and killed by a Democrat.

There should be a similar injunction for the GOA this week - hopefully. I'm a member of that.

From what I am told, it doesn't matter if you were not a member at the time.
Joining FPC puts you in the group.
The same may be true for GOA, which I am also a member of.

Letting everyone know that today is the last day for a free SBR tax stamp for braced pistols. What a mess...
2012 ATF says pistol braces are ok and later on it is ok to shoulder a brace
2023 they say it is illegal and millions of people will become criminals overnight.

Even the ATF can't get it straight. First they say braces you do not register must be destroyed, then the director of the ATF in front of congress under oath says having a brace is ok as long as it is not on the pistol without a stamp, then ast week the say it has to be destroyed. They can not even get their story correct.

Will this be overturned by the courts... most likely. Even more interesting is the Texas lawsuit against it that will challenge the whole NFA (1934 and 1968) as possible unconstitutional. But if it does not get overturned, you best get the free tax stamp before you have to pay $200 each...

Joined the FPC yesterday and donated a hundred bucks to support them. Couldn't resist buying a couple of T-shirts (dear wife will go ballistic if she opens the package before me - I have quite a collection.)

One of my favorite 2A attorney advocates on uTube is The Armed Attorneys*, yesterday they were discussing the scope of the now two injunctions (pistol braces.) So in their opinion:
  • >> Will most certainly be covered by the injunctions - resides in the 5th Circuit and were a member of the groups when the suit was filed
  • >> Probably covered - resides in the 5th Circuit and were a member of the groups after the suit was filed
  • >> Probably not covered - does not reside in the 5th Circuit
* Their practice seems to be limited to criminal defense involving firearms.
