I can be mechanically inclined but am not sure if I can dop the front drive shaft to install a new rubber boot, or if I need to take the jeep in. The boot was ripped off by a rock on my last excursion. I was impressed that the driveshaft did not damage after it hit the rock pretty hard, but it got scratched up good. (no vibration or dents noted)

Yep you have to drop or pull the front driveshaft out to replace the boot. But than you have it out you mite think about taking it to a driveshaft shop and have a dust cap put on, insted of the boot. Cant rip off something thats not there. That way no more ripped boot and dirt, mud, water inside the boot starting to rust too. Just my .02.
