Bestop Replace-A-Top - out with the old, in with the new

Ordered from Morris 4x4 last weekend and delivered today - that's great service! The top (Bestop Sailcloth Replace-A-Top Khaki) is assembled in Mexico, Morris's description says "Made in USA." Oh well...

The instructions were very easy to follow, at least for removing the old top. I ran out of time and I'll get the new one installed tomorrow. The new top looks well made, hopefully it will fit as nicely as the OEM did.

Any pics?

:worthless:
Yup - I'll take some pix, I'll post tomorrow.
What temps are you dealing with? If, below 70°, you're in for fun.
We're in good shape. Here's my on-line weather station, we're in the high 70s, low 80s - above normal and that's okay with me :) .

The Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-Top IS the factory original top, except you use current hardware. Should fit like a glove, but unless it's warm, it will fit like a glove on OJ's hand!
Next time consider getting with Dave. Anything over $100 ships free, and you won't find better customer service. Now post some pix, and hide the receipts. :D

Okay - got 'er done :D :D :D

Overall impression/comments - fits great, seems to be very well made and an exact replacement for the original. I was aware Bestop made OEM tops, I was not certain the Replace-A-Top was exactly the same. It is - whoo-hoo (except for the Bestop identification tags.) The instructions were quite adequate; the last few install steps which end where you actually latch it down to the top of the windshield was a bit of work for one person. I used a ratchet strap to pull the frame forward which helped immensely.

The top will look a little better once it heats up a few times and adjusts to its new life on our Rubi :cheesy:

BTW - I ordered my R&P gears from Dave and he will get more business from me! Very impressed! (Re-gearing scheduled for next Wednesday.)

Got a few pictures attached...

Looks good, I love the garage.
Thanks! The shop is 30x50 with a 16' ceiling. The motorhome lives under the other 20x50 part of the slab.
John,

Is the Bestop logo just on the tags? I've seen a few older tops that had the logo on the actual windows. This would be great to know if I need to replace my LJ top. I didn't like the logo imprinted on the windows, but I could deal with a small tag.

Thanks,

Steve
Steve - there is a smallish (~1"x1") Bestop logo imprinted (silkscreened?) on the left panel window if I remember correctly. I didn't find it obtrusive or that noticeable. The top looks pretty good and the khaki color is an exact match for the original (I would call it gray though!)
Thanks! Next time you are outside with your Jeep and camera, can you snap a pic? No hurry though.
Steve - it was exactly as I remembered it except the logo was larger and it was on the back window

Thanks John! That is exactly what I remembered. I wonder if there is anyway to remove it?

The yellow logo is a sticker (or was a few years back) but to the left is a melted on image.

Dunno. I'll give it the fingernail test but Greg might be right - it's probably there to stay. Maybe a candidate to put another image over it?
