What are the most sought out axle years.

right now I am looking at a front D44 or D60 from the ford's or dodges, and a Rear D60.

Looking for HP fronts. The rear, I could make into a HP60 lol

I'm guessing you want drivers drop for the front?

All you'll ever need to know about Dana 60's

Far as the rear, I would only run a FF pig. The 14 bolt is way stronger, and dirt cheap. You can find them daily for $100 around here. Or buy a CUCV 14 bolt and already have 4.56 gears and a detroit locker. You can grind a pinch off the bottom or buy Ballistic Fab's shave kit.

Assuming he's gonna DD this thing from time to time, I'd say neh. Don't they run a 7.07 gear or something?

Well read the Billavista 60 page bible. It should tell you all you need. IIRC the 78-79 F250 snowfighter is the pinnacle of kingpins. They are rare and almost never for sale, but they are the best.

Don't fear passanger drops though. A local buddy gave up on finding a Ford kingpin and boucght a set of CUCV axles for the rear detroit. He Just cut the tubes off at the pumpkin and swapped sides. Then butt welded the tubes and added a truss. He wheels hard enough to rip a chunk of frame off with the track bar bracket every other outing and has never had a prob with the front bending or coming apart.
