The little amber 4wd lamp just above my oil pressure gauge on my '06 LJR does not illuminate in 4 Hi, but does come on when I am in 2 Hi. I am thinking there is a switch somewhere on the linkage that is fouled up? The Jeep definitely is in 2 Hi when the T-case lever is all the way forward and is definitely in 4 Hi when it is pulled back one position.

Mine shows 4wd when in 2wd and nothing when in 4hi. I'm told it;s a bad sensor in the T-Case. I've just gotten used to it.

One of the times my body lift helped, but I still had to loosen up the body mounts to get my hands in there. I remember it was a struggle getting the plug separated. I used a flathead to push the lock down on the tab. Key is jacking up the body. I probably could have went higher. Wedge a block between the body and the frame for safety after creating the space.
