The difference in switching from 31" to 33" tires is 6%. So,.... read your tach at freeway RPM's and multiply by .94. Then decides how the engine reacts at this RPM. Keep it in the same gear. Do this at varying speeds to get an idea of the new torque curve. The move to 35" tires is much more dramatic (12%) so multiply RPM's by.88 and do the same.
I'm sold on 33's. the only disadvantage I see is the smaller diameter which sinks further into holes & pockets.

I do not disagree with anything you stated. If possible, folks would be well off if they got to dive and ride in rigs like they think they want to build. Want a 3 inch or 5.5 inch lift and a BL? Drive one if possible. Want 33s, 35s, or even 37s? Get in one and see how they go down the road, and how they stop. Talk to owners about hanging a large tire on the tailgate. Do they rattle, or break things? All of this is just food for thought...
Last April I went to the EJS in Moab. At least I got to see what I was going to put on my Jeep before it came out of a brown box. :)
