Rust on my 06 Rubicon locker pumps

I live in the Phoenix but my 06 Rubicon spent a few years in Michigan. I noticed that the locker pumps are rusting and was curious if I should put some POR-15 on the rusted parts or just leave it alone. The lockers work great.

Thanks in advance.

John

Welcome.
I would treat them. But that's me.

I couldn't leave them rusty like that - POR 15 is probably a good option.

Or Ospho (phosphoric acid), probably cheaper than POR15. I would pull the brackets, wire brush them, treat, rinse, dry, prime and paint. Also check the air barb fitting at the diff pumpkin - yours is probably rusty and should be treated. If it rusts enough, it could break off if hit.

Here’s another vote for phosphoric acid, prime and paint.

Clean them, treat them, and paint them. Damn nice looking frame and powertrain.
