Kydex holsters.... ever make one?

I have been looking into making a simple holster for my wife out of Kydex. But honestly I have no experience with the stuff, I mean I have kydex on some of my holsters, but that is all.

I am really looking to see what advice anyone has, any how to videos that some of you may have come across, directions etc.... I have googled and looked at a few, but it is always nice to double check that what I have seen is correct. I am really looking to do this on a budget, so if you have a list of tools that I might need that would be helpful. I know there are some fancy thermal mold foam presses out there, but they are also about 85 bucks.

So give your thoughts. Thanks!

I haven't been on gun forums lately but I don't recall reading about DIY Kydex holsters. Sounds like a fun project though.

The videos I have seen it looks real easy. Just an oven, a heat gun, and as long as you have that thermal foam it seems super simple. But I know how "simple" can be sometimes also LOL!

It would seem easy as you state with a heat gun. Give it a try and post up!

I might give it a go if the wife decides she wants this specific style holster cause no one makes it for her model (yet). If I do I most certainly will post it up. I think materials and all I can possibly get by for around $90. Which is steep, but several items I would always have if I ever wished to make another.
