Finally got a 2016 Rubicon :-)

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2016 Rubicon Unlimited from a dealer

Stock-Wrangler? No Way...

- Rugged Ridge XHD Front Bumper High Clearance
- Winch Smittybilt X20 Comp 12000
- Rock Rails
- Rugged Ridge XHD Rear Bumper
- tow bar 3,5t
- license plate left (due to regulations in Germany Kennzeichenhalter links
- wheels: to make something of the 18" Rubicon rims I decided to go with 255/70 R18 BFG K02 (snow flake) for the winter, I added 2" (1" each side) spacer to make them look better , for spring I'll get some 17" rims and MTs
- filled the frame with FluidFilm NAS

soon to come:
- LED head lights
- rework sway bar disconnect
- rework horn
- build locker bypass
- Question: Should I do something with the gearbox vents? Any guidelines available?

later to come:
- MTs on 7" Felgen, 2,5" lift

Regards
Jörg

The axles, transmission and transfer case will have vents that are approximately headlight high. You are good for driving in water to about the bottom of the headlights (which I highly recommend against.)

What's all of the split and stacked wood for?

(Love the color of your Rubi!)

Well .... I was in need of a justifacation for the Wrangler so I bought wifey a cosy oven and unfortunately needed an adequate car for pulling a trailer in the woods

I like the color, too. Others are saying a Jeep has to be black, what I don't agree to. I like the contrast of the black parts against any other non-black color.

Cool beans. Congratulations. It even came with cool mud decals on the side.

I've read that the 2016 engine was improved with more HP and more MPG. Did you notice any engine performance gains?

Yeah .... spray on mud

One of the advantages if your brother in law is a farmer ... there's always some mud to play with

The first set of pictures were taken after checking that the lockers are working ... they did but the farm land was pretty wet and the Bridgestone Dueler didn't had much traction ... In general the rubicon wants me to drive it through any mud whole that's in reach - and the muddy look gives a good justification for driving a Wrangler. Most of my german colleagues think I'm insame. We have ~1000 cars in the companies parking lot among them 2 old Nissan Patrols (1 short, 1 long), 2 Defender 90, 1 Mercedes GL ... and 1 blue Rubicon Not too much offroading around here.

Since this is my first Wrangler I can't judge. What I can tell is that the diesel engine is pretty much different from it's predecessor (F31 BMW)
