Back in 2004-2006 lot a folks ran the extended Mobile 1 oil filter on the TJ.
Anyone still using it on the JK?

Filtering system is different in the jk, a cartridge not a canister. Take a look at your JK before buying filters...

I use the mopar filters they come with the o ring .

... brain fart...
upon reflection I forgot that there was a jk before 2012, which uses the 3.8 l van motor, it has the canister filter, I use the WIX in my 04 and 06s with no known problems
Desert Dog likes this.

There's YouTube videos of people cutting various brands of filters apart and comparing the quantity of filter media and the overall weight. Wix was one of the best (or maybe the best, I forgot) and they make the NAPA Gold oil filters. The very worst of the ones the guy cut apart as I recall was the Fram. The guy unrolled the Wix filter paper and it must have been three times as long as the Fram. This was a real eye opener for me since Fram was one of the filters I've used for years.
