IIRC, there has been posts here on ROF about people "racing" those things downhill. Yes alcohol is probably involved.

I have seen those races, very funny. Luckily there is usually a bail or two of hay at the bottom of the hill. Although, it doesn't do much for the TBI on the way down....

Mine wasn't gas, but it did have two speeds. Always had a pack of 30amp fuses along since the battery fuses would always blow on me. My neighbor friend and I rolled it end over end on a steep dirt pile. Ironically he was the first person to copilot my Rubi through a few Colorado trails in the summer of '04

For me, the answer is yes!

Excellent. Iíve been on the hunt for a used one. Lots of mods available. Iím prepping to change my kidsí quad to a 24v setup.
