Question Blank Switch in 06 LJ

on my dash there are 4 spots for switches. Three are used and one is blank. After removing the panel to get to them, the blank placeholder has a plug in with 4-5 wires to it. There is no switch in front. Can I just push the blank out and move the plug and wires out of the way. I want to install a switch with relay for light bar.
Thanks

Thanks for your help guys. It appears that the blank is for the Auto Overdrive switch, and with my 6 speed not used.

Is it a Rubicon? Is it automatic? Those 2 options use switches there. Anyway, ya you can put a switch there.

I think one or two of those switches were for the hardtop option (defrost and wiper).

Four switches in that location; Locker enable, Auto Overdrive disable, rear wiper, rear defroster. If your Jeep was not built with hardtop or Auto tranny those switches aren't there. For example, I have a 5-speed manual trans and never only had a soft top so I only have the locker switch.

Thanks for the help everyone. My 06 LJ has a hard top so the blank was for an automatic. I just removed the blank and pushed the wiring out of the way and installed my Light Bar switch there. Worked out perfectly.

I'm planning to do the same thing. Thanks for sharing. I can proceed with more confidence.

After reading this back, I need to correct myself. Should read "only had a soft top".
