Official 2019 ROF Weight Loss Thread

2019
not doing a new year resolution thing....i`m still the same azzzh*le as always

post up your weight loss or goals ...what is working for you?

for me...i`ve been on the "KETO" lifestyle plan ...it`s not a diet its a way of living smarter

No....it`s not about eating 5lbs of meat of bacon everyday

i eat lots of veggies and fish and chicken and workout almost everyday

i`m now 228 starting 2019 off in a good way

Mac you are doing a great job.

At 6’5” and 205# I have never needed to watch my weight, but last year realized I needed an exercise routine, particularly for core muscles. Foot problems from decades of running now make even walking problematic. (Thank you Uncle Sam)

The answer for me turned out to be Total Gym. The corny Chuck Norris and Christy Brinckly ads aside, this piece of equipment works. A friend recommended it. He has used it for fifteen years following bypass surgery.

At 74 years old my abs are harder than at any time in my life, but the six pack is hidden by a few cookies. I spend about thirty minutes every other day.

The key, of course, is keeping at it consistently. Having a setup at home helps since it is easy to put off making a trip to the gym, even if there is one nearby. In my case there isn’t. Anyone considering home exercise equipment should take a look at Total Gym.

My goal last year was losing .5# per week. I came up a little short losing 16# over the year. I am however, the lightest I’ve been in over 40 years. As if this morning I’m taken off 90# from my highest weight.
Goal this year is 17# weight loss. I’ve found that to keep it off takes the turtle approach. I’m on a modified Keto diet that works for me. I also eat anything I want, however only eat half of it.
Great job to all those who are fighting the weight battle and having success! For those of you struggling “Don’t stop”! You can beat it!!! Your longevity depends on it. At 40 my Dr said my weight would take 10 years off my life. At 40 it was “meh”. At 70 it’s a different attitude.
WE CAN DO THIS 👍

Time to get reasonably serious about trying to lose about 10 or 15 pounds. Going to stop the afternoon happy hour for a few weeks and I just finished the last jug of our traditional spiked egg nog. The wife and I really don't eat that much but at our ages the metabolism really slows down. I gained about 20 pounds after dealing with prostate cancer and I'm still carrying that around.

We're going to buy something along the lines of a PhysioStep RXT – Recumbent Elliptical Cross Trainer. NuStep makes a better one (and built in the U.S.) but it's a wad of money. The PhysioStep is built in Taiwan, better than China I suppose.

225 on Jan 1, 220 today. Goal is 195. Funny thing is the goal stays the same, but the starting number seems to be creeping up LOL

Well there is a nme new push to lose weight now. My blood sugar and A1C are both elevated and in the "not quite" diabetes rang. The doc says I've got 6 mo to lose weight and reduce them to the normal range or it time to medicate. Diabetes killed my Mom at 80.

I changed my diet 2 weeks ago and have not fallen "off the wagon" yet.

That's how I'm eating now. No more white carbs.... Lots of cabbage, green beans, salad, and protein. So far I'm very satisfied, have lost some inches, and have not eaten any white carbs. It seems to be working. working.
