Zuk Buggy 2.0

I guess I've got enough parts gathered, it's time to start a thread for the new buggy. I had a little glitch in custody, so the old Zuk had to be sold to get my son.

Had a little left over, so I ordered the best axle parts in rock crawling from Jesse Haines. He shipped me a pair of Trail Gear housings, 14" Spidertrax rotors, RCV outers and 4 Pistons Willwood calipers. I decided to run the same drivetrain as the last buggy with a little more power.

Parts list includes-
2004 GTP Series III
AW4/300
LP 4.56 Yukon 3rds with Grizzly Lockers
H1 Portal outers/ Trail Gear housings
42" Treps on Procomp Vapor IIs
And a little Zuk sheetmetal

Wanted a little more backspacing, but didn't have the money for forged so I grabbed these.

Sourced a mangled tub for a few bucks

Started on the subframe

Set the drivetrain in to start on crossmembers

Hope to start the A pillar tomorrow, and measure the housings to be cut down.

Wow, you have some great skills to create a buggy from scratch like your doing. My compliments. Keep us updated.

Glad to see you back at it. Each time has been a great rig. This one is very promising!

Ah, the Golden Crack - what fun!

Are you bending and notching your own tubing? Fine looking boy you have.

They're weren't my first choice, but anything over 5" backspacing is forged and $650+. These were $1300 shipped from 4wd.com.

Soon as I heard moving to another state I could only respond "No!" I was honestly surprised the Zuk sold the same day for 17k. Definitely of the opinion the Big Guy had his hands on it. Glad yall let a Zuk...ish guy hang around.

We had a blast last October. I walked all 3 hot tubs, and then the air locker had an opportunity ring sealing problem right as we were hitting upper Helldorado waterfall. So, guess who's going back with an attitude? Lol

Yes I bend and notch everything in my garage. Thanks for the compliment on my clone. He's something else for sure, hahaha.

A couple hours a day...

We are planning on Moab again this October. I'm impressed with your tubing skills. I was hand grinding and fitting fishmouths on my last bumper and there is a real art to the process (which I didn't master.) I couldn't justify buying a good notcher and the cheap ones are apparently junk.
