My new multi-pupse bench

So far.... just have the frame finished.

It is 8' feet long, top will be 1" of plywood topped off with 3/4" MDF. Final depth 30" (2.5" overhang in the front from the frame), final height 42".
All joints into 4x4s have four 3" long screws and glued. Interior cross braces use pocket-holes.

Re-define.... It's more general purpose than multi purpose.

That almost exactly how I build workbenches, I use two 2x4s instead of one 4x4 for the legs. Good job! You probably have the top figured out but I use 3/4" ply covered with 1/8" Masonite.

Thanks John. Ya... I already bought what I was going to use for the top so I stuck with it. Attachment points for the top shelves aren't glued if I ever have to replace the top. At that point I could consider another layer of plywood and Masonite.

You have a nice thick top with that MDF, my portable bench has 3/4" MDF, good stuff.

Phase three... added bottom shelves, installed bench vice & grinder and four duplex outlets.

Tried attaching pics but ran into the same intermittent problem
