JK Rubicon - diff locks on and ESP/ABS off in H4 with switch
I want to use the diff locks in H4 at any speed, and turn the ESP / ABS off with one switch. I know that the ESP can be turned off by holding down the button 5 seconds, this is not practical while a situation comes up where you don't want to waste time.
I plan to go to the Sahara where I need to go faster than the Rubicon allows in 4L - I want to get the same situation as with 4L when I'm in 4H by just flipping one switch.
Did anybody solve this problem? Does anybody have the knowledge and wire plans to solve this problem?

Here is a write up with the wiring colors you are going to want to tap into to complete the locker mod so you can turn them on any time. You can either ground them, or trigger them with a positive feed, so it is just personal prefrence as to wich method you use.
trailduty.com/temp/lockers/lockers.pdf
For the ESP there is a setup in the owners manual disable it by following some goofy sequence of steps, but the only way to turn it back on is by repeating the steps. I have also seen a write up for disabling it by installing a switch to interupt it, but I can't find it.

Thanks a lot!!! The override switch is the same for the rear locker ( besides the color ) ?
The lockers can be used independent? i.e. Front locker only
The best thing would be to have all switches on top of the dashboard. | Locker rear | Locker front | ESP | ABS | Swaybar | Compressor | I wished to have wire plans to solve all this!

The front and rear can be operated independently with the set up, and the only difference between the front and rear set up two is the wire color you tap into.

Re: JK Rubicon - diff locks on and ESP/ABS off in H4 with switch
Hi, I just found a writeup with warning info. http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/JKLockerHacks.phpConsideration: There may be problems with the lockers on and the ESP system in full effect. The ESP monitors steering position, wheel speed, etc. When you would make a corner with the rear locker on both wheels will maintain the same speed. The ESP may misinterpret this as a wheel with loss of traction and cause the system to try to compensate using throttle control and ABS.

My Rubicon Diesel is a 2008 model but still doesn't react to the ESP off steering / button sequence.

Hi JeepinJon: you wrote .... the wire color you tap into. How do I have to understand this procedure? Does the original switch stay connected?

The original switch will still work, the two switches installed just over ride the switch in the dash, and allow you to over ride the front and rear locker dash switch.

JeepinJon: please see the photo of my locker relays - the wire colors are different. Could you please mark the photo where the violet - dark blue ( front - right on photo ) and the violet - light green ( rear - left on photo ) are located on you relays. Thanks a lot!

Looks like they must have used different colors on the export models. I am not sure which one it would be on that one.

Hi Martha, you mentioned to cut the wire, I thought I have to use a " cut clamp " to connect one cable to the other.

Re: JK Rubicon - diff locks on and ESP/ABS off in H4 with switch
Hi Martha, yes it's the scotchlock connector. Could you please explain what happens when this cable goes through the switch to ground. Could I just try to stick a needle into all four cables of the relay ( one after the other ) and connect it with a cable to the ground, and find out this way which cable is the right one ( when the control light goes on ).

In the meantime the Jeep dealer told me not to try to connect all different cables to ground, because the computer might get destroyed. They will try to find out which colors are right.

Re: JK Rubicon - diff locks on and ESP/ABS off in H4 with switch
I still hope to hear which cable has to be switched. The Austrian dealerweb shows the following: ( please consider that I made translations, so the U.S. dealerweb text will be slightly different )
Front locker pin circuit text 1 | A104 18YL/RD | B (+) ( fused ) 2 | A104 18YL/RD | B (+) ( fused ) 3 | emty 4 | T520 18YL/OR | exit relais front locker switch 5 | G304 20VT/DB | controller front locker
Rear locker pin circuit text 1 | A104 18YL/RD | B (+) ( fused ) 2 | A104 18YL/RD | B (+) ( fused ) 3 | emty 4 | T526 18YL/WT | exit relais rear locker switch 5 | G305 20VT/LG | controller rear locker
My dealer told me that pin 5 should be right, but no reaction when I run a cable from pin 5 to minus ( - ) In ten day I go to the Sahara and hope I'll do that running in 4H with lockers!

Check this out, it has been working flawlessly for me for over a year. and for the esp if you have an 08 or newer you can disable it completely without tapping into anything. 07's do not have the option viewtopic.php?f=38&t=70949
