well, heres a new one

Eric Sustaining Member July 2009 Joined: Sat Sep 08, 2007 6:18 am Posts: 2452 Location: Wichita KS	well, heres a new one Been going thru batteries, had Chrysler warranty the first one, It took a dive about 3 months later, put in a used battery I had, it lasted about 5 months, then started on the cheepo wallyworld variety about every 90 days or so. Finally got around to sending the Heep down to my Dealer and low and behold it needs a computer. apparently the computer IS the voltage regulator for the Alternator. It's been overcharging the batteries. IF it gets that far, I'll gut ALL the Chrysler CRAP out from under the Hood and do a good ol' 5.3 or 4bt cummins. On the other hand this didn't crop up till I quit driving it every day... If jeep sits more than three days, battery goes dead. I figured it was the over-abundance in electrical add-ons that I have that was causing it. But nothing is showing to be making the draw. Now I'm having almost all electrical pulled.... we'll see if I have the problem once the build is finished this fall.
