 well, heres a new one
Been going thru batteries, had Chrysler warranty the first one, It took a dive about 3 months later, put in a used battery I had, it lasted about 5 months, then started on the cheepo wallyworld variety about every 90 days or so. Finally got around to sending the Heep down to my Dealer and low and behold it needs a computer. apparently the computer IS the voltage regulator for the Alternator. It's been overcharging the batteries.
Maybe this will fix some other electrical gremlins Ive been having also

Interesting! Don't think I was aware of that bit of knowledge.

Re: well, heres a new one
That's a ridiculous design. I'm assuming the rectifier is still part of the alternator...I couldn't imagine the PCM handling Vac.

Re: well, heres a new one
I am not sure about Kansas, but after 3 tries on the same problem, it becomes a lemon law issue.

IF it gets that far, I'll gut ALL the Chrysler CRAP out from under the Hood and do a good ol' 5.3 or 4bt cummins. On the other hand this didn't crop up till I quit driving it every day... So maybe I'll drive it hard for a few weeks and MAYBE It'll fix itself

Re: well, heres a new one
I have had a battery problem too... similar to the way you describe it. If jeep sits more than three days, battery goes dead.
I figured it was the over-abundance in electrical add-ons that I have that was causing it. But nothing is showing to be making the draw.
Now I'm having almost all electrical pulled.... we'll see if I have the problem once the build is finished this fall. If you figure out what your problem is, let me know!

Re: well, heres a new one
I thought the Lemon law is a federal law? And yes if they cant fix the same issue after 3 tries you can apply for the lemon law. Found this dont know if it will help http://www.yourlemonlawrights.com/Kansas-lemon-law.aspxActual laws for Kansas http://www.yourlemonlawrights.com/Kansa ... tutes.aspx
