 Heater fan speed
I have lost the fan speeds 1-3....now I only have 4. Has anyone had this problem? What could cause this? Someone suggested a relay or fuse.
Thanks

 Re: Heater fan speed
I had the same problem a couple months ago. Behind your glove box ther is a loom of wires that plug into your heater box and there are 2 bolts there. Pull that out and replace the card looking part. It cost me 25 bucks good luck

 Re: Heater fan speed
Did mine last fall. Call the dealer and as for the heater fan switch resister pack. Takes about 10 minutes to change. Two 8mm screws if I remember correctly. Just like alfie said, behind the glove box. good luck!

 Re: Heater fan speed
Yep - it's a resister array.
The card is a heat-sink for the 3 resistors and it sits right in the duct to be cooled. The reason the highest speed works is because it doesn't use a resistor.
Do you see a problem with this design? What if I'm running my notoriously hot heater, are those resistors still being cooled?
I don't know, but I've replaced the resistor one time, and I don't want to do it over and over.
When using the heat (8 months out of the year here) I use the slower fan speeds sparingly. I try to only use the high speed.
When turning off the heat, I turn the duct/vent selector all the way to the "off" symbol.
If you just turn the fan speed all the way down and leave the vent selector on, the low speed fan resistor is still being used and still getting hot.

 Re: Heater fan speed
I'm on the same plan, lol... I have no idea how they figured the airflow would cool the resistors when you are using the heat?! At least they are cheap, thank god.
