West Virginia camping in November...

Rocky Mountain National Park.



Took the scenic route after doing some wheeling that day. Silverthorne over to Kremmling where we did Sidewinder Trail, then over to Granby, then to Grand Lake where we took Trailridge road over to the campground. Trailridge is only open in the summer months due to it's high elevation 11k plus.

This picture was taken on the last day of May. You can imagine what it would be like in the heart of winter.

Eagle Field, Firebaugh CA My wife and I were volunteer staff for the drag races and got to camp out the night before the races. Got to use the Rubi as a wind block, was a chilly night!

did you fab that trailer or buy it? also did the tent come with it or did you disign something for it.

Nice jonster, I bet you see them all over out west. They are pretty rare here in the midwest. I never understood why either. No way would I ever own a canvas pop up again after having a "A" frame camper.

The factory is about 25 miles from us.. When we had ours built they let us go through and see how they were manufactured. Very durable.

Been mostly using my truck for camping trips this year, so not too many Rubi camping pics. That'll change come November .

Two weeks ago.

I love this thread...like a mini-vacation everytime someone adds something new.

Not really a Rubi, and some say this is not really camping. I guarantee it was fun though.

Just got back today... Rubicon Springs

Camping at Toroweap, on the north rim of Grand Canyon. That's my camp on the far left of the shot with the silver Rubi.


I went there to photograph the sunrise. Came out pretty good I think.

I think you're right. Great shot! How many shots did you take to get this one that came out so perfect?

A bunch! I had to go back and look. I shot 10 sequences in quick succession, and picked the best one. The sun moves really quickly when it's on the horizon like that, so you only get a few seconds when the sun is at the optimal position to make a nice star. Each sequence was three bracketed shots which I then HDR'd (but don't tell anyone. )

Last week I got away for a few days. I was camped about 3/4 miles from the nearest dirt road and about 8 miles from any paved road. I never saw or heard another soul for three days. No cars, No nothing. Real R&R.





This was what I saw from my tent each morning. Not the best view but peaceful non the less.

Awesome! Nothing like real solitude, sometimes makes it hard to return to "real" life.
